Burt: These your roommates?
Sophia: Yeah
Burt: Which one’s the slut?
Blanche, Dorothy, Rose: I am!
Rose: [on inspiring Meg to quit prostitution, and moving back home] What was it I said?
Meg: Nothing.
Meg: I didn’t wanna be your age and still be in the business.
Rose: I’ve never felt so good…
Rose: …and so cheap in my whole life.
Blanche: We’re gonna see Burt after all!
Sophia: Which one of you isn’t going?
Blanche: Well… I’m the one who won the tickets.
Dorothy: It’s my mom who’s bailing us out.
Rose: I lost Butter Queen. Haven’t I suffered enough?
Rose: Sophia, did you come to bail us out?
Dorothy: No, Rose, she’s dropping off a manicotti with a file in it.
Rose: It was small consolation to find out, years later…
Rose: …there had been churn-tampering involved.
Rose: As the pageant drew to it’s frenzied finale…
Rose: …there I was, alongside the other two finalists…
Rose: …churning my guts out.
Rose: When all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, my churn jammed.
Everybody: Oh, no.
Rose: Yes.
Rose: Just like that, it was over.
Rose: I’d lost.
Rose: It was the biggest disappointment in my life.
Dorothy: Rose, you’re embarrassing yourself. Please don’t go on.
Rose: I have to. I’ve kept these bitter butter memories too long.
Rose: I showed poise in the evening gown competition.
Rose: I was brilliant in the oral butter quiz.
Rose: They couldn’t even trip me up with a trick margarine question.
Rose: That evening butter was spelt R-O-S-E.
Rose: [on being Butter Queen] From the time I was born my folks groomed me for it.
Rose: Singing lessons, dancing lessons, junior butter pageants.
Rose: For 16 years my entire life revolved around butter.
Dorothy: You were very fortunate. So many of us wasted our youth.
Dorothy: So what was this great disappointment in your life?
Rose: Butter. I wanted to be Butter Queen.
Blanche: Aw, yeah. What an actress.
Blanche: She was so good in Gone With the Wind.
Blanche: I wanted to be Miss Olivia de Havilland myself.
Dorothy: Blanche, are you even listening?
Blanche: Bits and pieces.
Rose: Well, Butter Queen was our town’s highest honor.
